Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has announced that there will be 10 more parks and playgrounds in the area.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the Bashabo sand field development project in Sabujbagh on Wednesday.
“There is no playground in ward No 48. There is not even an inch of free space to build one. There is a truck stand and it will be removed to turn it into a playground. Construction of another 10 such parks and playgrounds is in the works,” Taposh said.
Lawmaker Saber Hossain Chowdhury at the event said the Basabo field would be inaugurated on December 16, 2023.
He said there had been attempts to occupy the field but the people had thwarted the efforts.
