A Dhaka University student died reportedly after jumping off a building in the capital’s Japan Garden city.
Police recovered the body around 5:30pm on Wednesday, confirmed Adabar Police OC Motiur Rahman.
The deceased has been identified as Zaina Habib Prapti, a student of Accounting and Information System at the university.
She is initially thought to have committed suicide, said police.
Citing eyewitnesses, OC Motiur said that the student jumped from Building No 16 in Japan Garden City.
Police will investigate whether it was an accidental death or suicide, he added.
Dhaka University Proctor Ghulam Rabbani confirmed hearing of the incident and said they were looking into the matter.
