More than a hundred ready-made garment (RMG) workers have blocked the Uttara Azampur road in Dhaka demanding that there should be no layoff.
The demonstration created a traffic jam which caused office goers and other commuters to suffer while crossing the area, locals claimed.

Uttara East police Inspector (operation) Monirul Haque Dablu said garment workers of Fashion Flash Limited blocked the road around 10am.
The workers claimed that their owner, Helal, sacked some workers which they do not accept and blocked the road because of that.
However, after talking to the workers, police were able to remove them from the road around 11am, the inspector added.
