A fire broke out at a warehouse in a three-storey building in Raisaheb Bazar area of Old Dhaka.
The incident took place on Saturday morning. Two people were injured in this fire incident, said the Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarter Duty Officer Rasel Shikder.
He said that the fire broke out at the warehouse used to store chemicals, and nuts and bolts, on the ground floor of the building around 7:00am. Four units of firefighters were able to put out the blaze at 8:30am.
Of the two injured, one has been identified as Roky, and the injured have been taken to a local hospital for treatment, he added.
Rasel said: “In primary inquiry, we suspect that the incident could have been caused by a chemical explosion. The incident caused a loss of around Tk50 lakh and they were able to save goods worth Tk2 crore.”
