Badda police have arrested six people on charges of defrauding money from the poor by claiming they were delivering relief.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner Md Masudur Rahman said the fraud ring had gathered in the Ananda Nagar area of South Badda and was defrauding money from the poor on Thursday afternoon. Acting on a tip-off, police rushed to the spot and arrested them.
The arrestees were identified as Monir Hossain, Kawsar Ahmed, Ramzan Hossain, Sobhan Fakir, Md Sajib and Jasim. Police recovered Tk11500 from their possession.
A case has been filed against the six and they will be brought before the court as soon as possible.
