Covid-19: Gulshan society launches disinfecting programs

In an effort to stem the spread of coronavirus, Gulshan Society's (GS) civic utilities committee, a neighbourhood task force, has launched a program on Sunday in part by disinfecting areas considered essential to the capital's upscale Gulshan neighbourhood.

Disinfecting and cleaning operations will span across areas such as drug stores, pharmacies, kitchen markets, grocery stores and popular entry points around Gulshan neighbourhood.

GS is a small team made up of people from all ages and it requires support which includes personal protective equipment (PPE), food, vitamins and operational funds.

In a statement on Sunday, senior group members have asked people from all walks of life to reach out and help support #OperationDisinfect and assist in the fight against COVID-19.

As part of the program, necessary training was offered to its team members on Sunday afternoon and shared intelligence and best practises including social distancing and hand washing.

GS recommends each areas of the neighbourhood to purchase spray machines and use a 5% Lizol Water Solution for better result in disinfecting operation.
