Two Bangladeshi people with high temperatures have been sent to the hospital after they arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka from Spain and Italy on Monday.
Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, director of the airport, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Monday.
Touhid said : “Due to high temperatures in their body, they (the two passengers) were sent to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Hospital for further checkup.
“On-duty health officials at the airport told me those passengers have some symptoms of coronavirus and needed to be sent to the hospital immediately,” Touhid said.
However, he did not confirm whether they arrived by the same flight. “I have to check whether they both came by the same flight or not.”
When asked about the two Bangladeshis infected with coronavirus, who returned from Italy, Touhid told reporters that currently they have no information by which airlines or by which flight they arrived in the country. “We are trying to find out whether other passengers, crew members, and pilots of that flight need check-ups or not."
