Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam has inaugurated Sonargaon Janapath Road as car-free road in Dhaka’s Uttara area.
“The mayor inaugurated the road as car-free at 9am on Friday,” DNCC public relation officer ASM Mamun said, reports UNB.
DNCC Mayor said children should be involved with physical exercise for their mental and physical development.
Children, guardians as well as the DNCC mayor participated in various games on the road after the inauguration.
“Soon, we will recover the fields in the city from illegal occupation,” Atiqul said.
Local MP Advocate Sahara Khatun, among others, was present on the occasion.
