ACC sues Kalabagan Krira Chakra president

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against KalabaganKrira Chakra Club President and Krishak league leader, Shafiqul Alam Firoz, on charges of amassing wealth illegally.

ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday.

ACC Deputy Director Saiful Islam filed a case against Shafiqul at the anti-graft watchdog’s Integrated District Office 1 in Dhaka.

ACC has proof against the club president of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk2,682,639.

On September 21, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed the two cases against Firoz under arms and narcotics acts with Dhanmondi police station.

He was placed on a 10 day remand by a Dhaka court on the same day in the two cases.

On 20 September, RAB members detained Shafiqul during a raid conducted on the sports club premises in Dhaka and seized 990 yaba pills and an illegal firearm in the government's crackdown on illegal casinos.
