The body of an young man has been found in a pond near Mahanagar Natyamancha of Dhaka’s Gulistan.
The deceased was identified as Azad, 25, whose body police recovered around 10am on Wednesday.
Confirming the matter, Paltan police station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Oli Ullah said: “Locals informed the police when they saw Azad’s floating body in the pond.”
Azad’s neighbors identified him as a drug addict, and said they had often seen him roaming and lurking around in some corner, he added.
Police recovered his body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.
