Rajuk starts drive to inspect building offences

Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk), Dhaka's development authority, has started its drive to inspect and find buildings that have violated rules and regulations.

A total of 24 teams of Rajuk began the drive on Monday morning.

The teams – under eight zones of Rajuk – will inspect buildings that are over 10-storeys tall.

Zone 2 (Uttara, Tongi and Gazipur) Director Abdul Matin said three teams from his zones have been collecting information about high-rise buildings since morning.

The decision to inspect buildings was made after a deadly fire in Banani’s FR Tower, which killed 26 people on March 28.
