A Sri Lankan national had jumped out of the burning FR Tower building in Banani in an attempt to save himself.
Indika Marasinghe, 46, used the pipes adjacent to the building to climb down from the 10th floor and jumped off when he reached the 2nd floor to escape the smoke.
The injured was immediately rushed to the burn and plastic surgery unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

The man was suffering from respiratory problems due to the excess inhalation of smoke inside the building, he added.
The Sri Lankan national was working as the general manager at Scanwell Logistics Bangladesh Ltd and his office was on the 10th floor of the FR Tower.

The fire originated from the 9th floor of the 21-storey building. Many are still trapped inside and are in the process of being rescued.
