Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken multiple steps to prevent question paper leaks ahead of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam.
RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed remarked this while addressing the press at the RAB media centre in Karwan Bazar on Wednesday.
According to a government directive, coaching centres are to remain closed ahead of the SSC and equivalent examinations that are scheduled to begin on February 2.
Therefore, RAB will take all the necessary steps to ensure that the instructions provided by the government are properly adhered to; RAB will take strict action against those who do not comply with this.
He said: "If necessary, RAB will close all the coaching centres that violate government instructions, using the RAB mobile court.
"RAB has already started monitoring and patrolling Bangladesh's cyberspace—including all social media platforms—to prevent question paper leaks. We have also strengthened our intelligence and surveillance activities."
"We also have started conducting undercover operations. We hope the country will be able to see the results of our various initiatives very soon," he added.
Adding to the conversation he said: "We are also talking to—and taking information from—teachers, students, and their parents, in order to avert a question paper leak. Anyone involved in such activities will be arrested whether they are a student, teacher, or even parent.
"We arrested around 128 suspects last year for alleged question-paper- leak involvement. I request everyone to make sure that no one takes part in such fraudulent activities."
He urged everyone to provide information relating to question paper leaks to the RAB.
