“Mujib-3,” the third part of a graphic novel series on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was launched at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2017 Sunday.
State Minister for Power and Energy, Nasrul Hamid, was present as the chief guest at the launch ceremony which was organised by the Centre for Research and Information (CRI).
“Our target is to ensure that the children are interested in reading about the life of Bangabandhu. We are making an effort to present to readers the momentous events which shaped the life our liberator,” said Nasrul, who is also a trustee of CRI.
"The Unfinished Memoirs" by Bangabandhu, is being presented in a 12-part graphic novel series, an initiative mainly aimed at raising a keenness among children and teenagers to learn about the Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the nation’s history.
“The graphic novel series depicts his school and college life and how he, braving all the odds, made his foray in to the complex arena of politics,” said Shibu Kumar Shill, the book's editor.

“Mujib-3” highlights the post-World War II period during which Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman emerged as a politician and organiser, despite the many obstacles he faced.
The first part of the graphic novel series was launched on March 17, 2015, the 96th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation and National Children's Day, and the second part was unveiled at the book fair on February 13 last year.
On Sunday, 115 new books arrived at the book fair and 47 were formally unveiled.
