Gold worth Tk1cr found under airplane seat at Dhaka airport

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) has seized 20 gold bars seemingly abandoned from an airplane at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
CIID Director General (DG) Moinul Khan said the gold bars weighting about 2kg were found hidden under a seat of a Bangladesh Biman flight around 7am on Wednesday.
He said: "Acting on a tip-off customs officials searched flight BG 087 and found gold of an estimated worth of Tk1 crore which were taped in two separate bags, each containing 10 bars."
The flight arrived Bangladesh from Malaysia around 6:30am on Wednesday, he added.
The DG also said: "We are investigating the matter, action will be taken against the people related to the smuggling."
