Another lane of the Fatehpur railway overpass on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Feni, which has been experiencing huge tailbacks for more than a week, was opened to traffic on Sunday, aiming to ease traffic jam on the busiest highway of the country.
Mohammad Mohiuddin, project manager of Al Amin Construction, said the Dhaka-bound lane of the overpass was opened around 4pm.

"The construction work under the supervision of Bangladesh Army is in full swing, and it'll be opened to traffic fully before Eid-ul-Azha," he added.
Earlier on May 15, another lane of the railway overpass was opened to traffic.

The construction work on the 86.79-metre long railway overpass, involving Tk105.7 crore at Fatehpur, started in 2012 under the supervision of Shipu BPL Contractor Company.
Later, Bangladesh Army got the task to finish it and started their work in April last year.
