A doctor of BIRDEM (Bangladesh Institute of Research & Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders) has been shot on his leg by miscreants in the capital on Sunday evening.
The victim is Dr Md Abu Naser Muhit, 34, son of late Abu Naser Ohid and senior medical officer of the hospital.
Ibrahim, a tenant of the house, said: "Naser along with her mother live at the 1st floor of the four-storied building located at 356/C Madhubagh area of Moghbazar."
“Some unidentified miscreants entered into the house around 6:45pm and shot on his leg and fled the scene immediately," he added.
He said after hearing the screams of Naser, neighbours went out and took him to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) around 8pm.
Moshiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Ramna police station said: "The victim has been undergoing treatment at DMCH."
A case filing is underway, the police official said, adding the matter will be investigated properly.
“Meanwhile, some locals have been primarily interrogated in this regard.”
