An eight-month-old boy has been strangled to death allegedly by his father at Shahdaulatpur village under Burichang upazila in the district on Tuesday afternoon.
Family members said the accused, Shakil, 32, on Tuesday afternoon went to doctor with his son Tahsin for medical checkup but returned home alone.
He could not give any satisfactory answer when his wife Sonia Akhter questioned about the boy.
Later, she rushed to nearby the hospital and found her child Tahsin dead.
Sonia, the second wife of Shakil, said: “He (Shakil) killed my another son one year ago in the same manner.”
Burichang Police Station (Investigation) Kamruzzaman told the Dhaka Tribune that victims mother lodged a murder case in this connection.
Family dispute might be a reason behind the murder, he added.
