The families of the seven people abducted and later found dead in Narayanganj have given their deposition before the high-powered probe body formed under the directive of the High Court.
The family members of the seven-murdered victims started giving their depositions around 10am on Saturday at the office of Narayanganj deputy commissioner.
Abdus Salam, brother of the deceased ward counsillor Nazrul Islam, told the Dhaka Tribune, that he discussed openly on the rivalry between his brother and Nur Hossain.
“We discussed everything, from after the abduction up until now, with the probe body,” he said.
Seven bodies surfaced in Shitalakkhya River on April 30 that included the body of a Narayanganj ward councillor, Nazrul Islam, and lawyer Chandan Sarker.
Autopsy reports say they were murdered by professionals. However, police were yet to trace anyone behind the killings.
Prime accused in the case, local Awami League leader Nur Hossain, has eluded capture.
Nazrul’s family has blamed the elite force RAB for its involvement in the murder, alleging that it took Tk6 crore for the task. Three officials were dismissed after the accusation.
Several probe bodies including one within the RAB have been working on the issue.
