A man has allegedly chopped his wife to death in Bashbaria village under Gangni upazila in Meherpur on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Selina Khatun, 32.
Locals said there was a long time family conflict between Masud alias Enjil Hossain and his wife Selina.
Following the feud, Masud chopped his wife to death with a sharp weapon around 12pm and fled the spot.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to the hospital for autopsy.
Gangni police station Officer-in-Charge Riazul Islam said: “We are trying to arrest Masud.”
