A gang of muggers has snatched Tk5lakh from a bkash emplyee by stabbing him at Boteshwar bazaar area in the district on Thursday afternoon.
Police and witness said: “A gang of criminals riding on three motorcycles stabbed Goutam Pal, 28, the marketing officer of Bikas, and snatched Tk5 lakh from him while he was going to local Trust Bank. The local people admitted Goutam at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.”
Shahporan police station Sub-Inspector Benu Deb said: “Upon receiving information from the locals, police rushed to the spot. We will investigate the incident as per the information given by Goutam.”
Goutam’s cousin Jotee Pal said: “Goutam is receiving treatment in the hospital. He has received severe injuries.”
