Police on Wednesday recovered the body of a man, estimated to be around 25 years old, from a canal filled with water hyacinth in Badda’s Yasin Nagar area of Santarkul in Dhaka.

The identity of the deceased could not be confirmed. Police said the body was recovered from the canal on Tuesday and had been in the water for a long time, leaving it decomposed.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Mahbubul Alam of Badda Police Station said locals spotted the body floating among water hyacinth and informed police, after which it was recovered from the spot.
