Robbers allegedly have looted about Tk11.25 crore in cash of Dutch Bangla Bank from a vehicle that was on its way to refill ATMs in Savar's EPZ area on Thursday morning.
The incident took place at noon in Dhaka's Turag area, said Moudud Hawlader, officer-in-charge of Turag police station.
A group of armed people intercepted a car of a security agency, in-charge of transporting the money for Dutch Bangla Bank when its officials were heading toward Savar after collecting the cash from the bank's office, said the OC.
The gang looted the money at gunpoint, said the police official adding that CCTV footage of the spot is being reviewed to arrest the robbers.
"We are trying to recover the looted money arresting the criminals," the OC further added.
