Five arrested for demanding extortion

A joint force on Sunday arrested five men including an Awami League leader and his son for demanding extortion from the contractors of Ruppur Nuclear Power Project in Pabna. The detainees were identified as Enamul Haq Biswas, chairman of Pakshi union, Rocky Biswas, son of Enamul, Mizanur Rahman, Anwar Hossain Liton and Farukh Ahmed Jibon. Jahurul Haq, additional superintendent of Ishwardi police, said: “The arrestees were taken to RAB 12 bureau in Pabna for interrogation.”
