10,950 yaba pills seized in Patuakhali, Natore

Law enforcers have seized a total of 10,950 yaba pills in separate raids conducted in two districts.

In Natore, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained three drug peddlers with 9,950 yaba pills during a raid on Thursday.

Natore RAB Company Commander Azmol Hossain confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune. 

The detained suspects are: Hafsa Khatun, 35, Habil, 35, and Nayeb Ali, 36— all hailing from the Chhaikhola Village of Chatmohar upazila.

Azmol Hossain told the correspondent: “On a tip-off, a RAB team conducted a raid in the Chhaikhola Village around 9am in the morning. The three suspects were held with 9,950 yaba pills, three mobile phones and five SIM cards.”

The RAB commander said the detained suspects have confessed their involvement with the illegal yaba trade during initial interrogation.

In Patuakhali, police seized 1,000 yaba tablets, and detained two suspects including a woman in Rangabali area. 

Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Rangabali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) said: “The raid was conducted in the Koralia Launchghat area around 2pm.”

The detained suspects are Mahinur Begum and Md Rafi.
