Miscreants attack police, snatch two accused in Cumilla

Unidentified miscreants have attacked police and snatched two accused of a murder case from their custody in Soroshpur area under Monoharganj upazila of Cumilla district. Six policemen, including two sub-inspectors, were injured during the attack Sunday night. Locals said a team from Monohorganj police station arrested Saddam and Yunus in a drive around 7:15pm. Later, their associates attacked the members of the law enforcement agency and snatched them. Monoharganj police station Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain said: “The criminals snatched the duo while they were being taken to the patrol vehicle.” “We are trying to arrest them.” He said the injured policemen have been admitted to a hospital.
