During the drive, RAB seized 34 satellite phones, 132 radio sets (VHF/UHF/HF), two radio aerials, two JRC radar antennas, three transmission units, four bride alarms, five receivers, one sailor set communication terminal, eight antennas, four power supply units, two JRC printers, two keyboards, night handsets, 22 radar displays and 76 GPS navigators and other equipment.
The four accused are – Safiqul Islam, 45, Md Samsul Alam, 50, Md Liton, 45 and Md Jewel, 28, said RAB sources to Dhaka Tribune.

Rabin Chowdhury/Dhaka TribuneSohel Mahmud, senior assistant director of the media wing of RAB-7 said: “A RAB team led by Major SM Sudipto Shahin conducted the drive at Golam Mostafa market on Abdul Barek Road in Pahartali at around 3pm and recovered the communication and navigation devices. The team raided in five stores - Hazrat Shahjalal Enterprise, Sakib Marine Electronics, SK Marine, Jewel Nur Building and Ma Marine Electronics.”
“Later RAB arrested four in connection with the crime,” the RAB official added.
The storage, purchase, sale and import of high frequency devices is restricted for general people according to the Bangladeshi laws.
