“The body of the militant could not be recovered on Saturday due to the severe exposure of tear gas inside the flat,” CTTC Deputy Commissioner Proloy Kumar Joardar briefed the media around 1pm Sunday.
“Initially we have traced five grenades and two life vests in the flat. The fire service will neutralise the gas and bomb disposal team will defuse the grenades.”
“Then the crime scene units of CID and CTTC will start inspecting and collecting evidence from the spot and Dakkhinkhan police will recover the body,” the senior CT official added.
On Saturday, Police’s CTTC unit conducted a raid at a house in Ashkona Purba Para area of Dhaka’s Dakkhinkhan which led to the capture of two female militants and the rescue of three children.
Two others were killed in the raid – a woman killing herself by detonating a suicide vest and a teenage boy whose cause of death remains unclear.
