The mastermind, Mamunur Rashid Mamun, and another accused Murad Hossain, of the rape case that took place inside Jahangirnagar University (JU) on February 3, pleaded guilty to the court.
Ashulia police station Inspector Md Mijanur Rahman presented them before the court on Friday where the accused confessed to the crime.
Judicial Magistrate Mujahid Ul Islam sent them to jail after recording their confessions, said Ashulia police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Masud Mia.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Mamun from the Farmgate area in the capital, and Murad Hossain, a JU student, from Naogaon.
The other accused are - Mustafizur Rahman, a student of the 45th batch of the International Relations Department, Hasanuzzaman from the 45th batch of the International Relations Department, Sagor Siddiqui from the 46th batch and Sabbir Hossen from the 47th batch of the Botany Department.
The woman was violated in the adjacent area of the hall at around 9pm on February 3, while her husband was locked at the university’s Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall.
