The High Court on Sunday ordered to give five BNP leaders, who were arrested over the Naya Paltan clash, divisional facilities in jail.
The BNP leaders are - BNP Chairperson's Advisor Abdus Salam, Senior Joint Secretary Khairul Kabir Khokon, Publicity Secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, former organizing secretary AKM Fazlul Haque Milon, Member of Parliament of Barisal-6 Abul Hossain Khan.
A High Court bench comprising Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Mohammad Ali passed the order, reports Bangla Tribune.
Previously, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas were given the first-class facility in jail.
State Counsel Deputy Attorney General Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar informed the High Court that a Dhaka court ordered to give division facility to them on December 9 and they have been the facility since December 14.
On December 7, BNP leaders and activists engaged in a clash with police in front of the party's Naya Paltan central office centering the party's December 10 divisional rally in the capital.
Later, police raided the BNP office and arrested around 450 party leaders and activists from there. The law enforcers also arrested Mirza Fakhrul and Mirza Abbas from their houses.
