A Dhaka court on Tuesday set June 8 for the appearance of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in 11 cases filed on charges of sabotage and sedition.
Judge KM Imrul Qayesh of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court passed the order as the former prime minister failed to appear before the court because of her poor health, bench clerk Anisur Rahman confirmed.
During BNP's strike in early 2015, police filed eight cases with Darus Salam police station and two cases with Jatrabari police station while a person filed the sedition case.
Later in 2016, police submitted a charge sheet against Khaleda and others accused.
Along with Begum Zia, the notable accused in these cases are BNP leaders Amanullah Aman, Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohail and Sultan Salauddin Tuku.
