A Dhaka court has recorded the deposition of the Dhaka University student who was raped in the capital's Kurmitola area earlier this year.
Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal 7 Judge Begum Mosammat Quamrunnahar recorded the testimony on Monday.
The survivor was later cross-examined by Rabiul Islam, the defence lawyer on behalf of the accused.
After recording depositions and cross-examination of the witness, the judge adjourned the trial proceedings till Wednesday.
According to court sources, the survivor said she expected that the government would eliminate all those who are rapists from society, and create an environment where no woman will ever have to go through what she faced.
The victim also narrated the incident before the tribunal and demanded exemplary punishment for the lone accused and also identified the accused in the court dock.

Earlier on August 26, the tribunal indicted Majnu in the case.
On March 16, the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) submitted the charge sheet before a court in Dhaka against the lone accused.
On January 5, the survivor, a second-year student of Dhaka University, was raped in Kurmitola after she mistakenly got off a bus there at around 7pm, on her way to a friend's house at Joar Sahara, also known as Shewra.
The incident triggered massive protests by students and humanitarian organizations across the country.
The survivor's father filed a case with Cantonment police station over the incident, which was transferred to the DB police on January 6.
On January 8, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Majnu in the capital's Shewra rail crossing area.
On January 16, Majnu gave a statement before a Dhaka court confessing his involvement in the crime.
