A Sylhet court has ordered the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the alleged murder of a man, Nazrul Islam Babu, who was found dead the morning after he was arrested in Sylhet's Jaintapur police custody on the morning of May 19.
Nazrul was arrested on the night of May 18 in a case filed by his wife, Nasrin Fatema, and was found dead the next day in the cell.
In total, 11 people were accused in the case filed by Nazrul's mother on Thursday, where five police officers, including the officer-in-charge of Jaintapur police station, have been accused for murder by torture.
Also, Nazrul's wife, Nasrin Fatema, along with five more suspects have been charged in this murder case.

On Sunday, the plaintiff's lawyer, Md Lala, confirmed that Sylhet Court Judge Md Atiqul Haider announced that PBI will investigate the incident and submit a report by July 25.
Jaintapur police OC Md Safiul Kabir has been mentioned as the prime suspect in the case filed, along with Sub- Inspector Shafiqur Rahman, Sub-Inspector Humayun, Assistant Sub-Inspector Joynal and Constable Adbul Hannan.
Jaintapur police have claimed Nazrul's death as a suicide.
Four police officers have been suspended for negligence in duty in connection with this incident.
