Charge sheet submitted against 101 Cox's Bazar yaba dealers

Police have submitted charge sheet against 101 Cox's Bazar yaba dealers in two cases under the Arms Act and the Narcotics Control Act.

The charge sheet was submitted to the Cox's Bazar Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah's court on Monday, said Pradeep Kumar Das, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox's Bazar court police.

However, police dropped the name of one accused named MD Rasel as he has died.

On February 16 last year, 102 yaba dealers and smugglers officially surrendered to police with 350,000 yaba tablets and 30 firearms in the presence of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal at an event in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.

Seven family members of former Awami League lawmaker and alleged yaba kingpin, Abdur Rahman Bodi, were among the dealers who surrendered on that day.
