The High Court has asked the government to form a committee with at least 15 members to conduct a survey on unfit vehicles plying on the roads.
After holding a primary hearing on a writ petition on Tuesday, the High Court bench of Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal passed the order along with ruling.
The writ petition was filed by Tanvir Ahmed on July 26 on public interest.
Supreme Court lawyer Tanvir Ahmed in the writ petition said that most public transport do not have proper looking glasses, signal lights and proper brake systems which lead to accidents, claiming people's lives.
The writ challenged concerned government authorities over their inaction in preventing this situation.
