ACC nabs former coast guard director Mostafizur

He was arrested from his residence in capital's Mirpur DOHS area on Monday morning on allegation of misappropriating Tk7.37crore from the government exchequer, confirmed ACC's Public Relation Official Pranab Kumer Bhattacharya.
ACC Director Enamul Bashir carried out the arrest.
Mostafizur was arrested in a case filed in August, 1998 with Cantonment police station during the time of the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Earlier on September 29, in the same connection, former director general of Coast Guard Commodore (retired) Safiur Rahman was also arrested by the commission. He is now in jail.
The duo allegedly embezzled Tk7.37 crore by selling wheat allocated from the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief to the coast guard under the rural infrastructure development programme, accordingly the FIR of the case.
