International Standard University (ISU) organized a ceremony on Thursday to recognize distinguished contributions to research and international academic excellence, where Professor Dr Md Hakikur Rahman, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), was honored.
The program was held at the university’s Media Lab and organized by the Department of CSE. ISU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abdul Awal Khan presided over the event, while Professor Dr Harikumar Pallathadka, Chancellor of Manipur International University, India, attended as the chief guest. He formally presented the PhD Honorary Recognition Crest to Professor Dr Md Hakikur Rahman.
In his remarks, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abdul Awal Khan reaffirmed ISU’s strong commitment to research, innovation, and knowledge-based education. He emphasized that research-led education plays a vital role in national development and in strengthening global competitiveness.
The chief guest, Professor Dr Harikumar Pallathadka, highlighted that research excellence reflects the true strength and global reputation of a university. He praised Professor Dr Md Hakikur Rahman’s significant contributions to international research and noted that such recognition would inspire young scholars to pursue research with greater dedication.
In his response, Professor Dr Md Hakikur Rahman expressed gratitude for the honor, stating that research is not only a personal achievement but also a continuous responsibility to apply knowledge for the betterment of society and humanity. He added that the recognition would further motivate him to advance his research work with renewed commitment.
The event was attended by Professor Dr Monjur Morshed Mahmud, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies; Professor Md Abul Kashem, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Professor Dr Mohammad Ekramul Haque, Director of IQAC; Professor Mohammad Ali of the Department of Business Administration; Registrar Md Faizullah Koushik; along with department heads, faculty members, students, and other university officials.
