Tremor jolts Bangladesh for 3rd consecutive day

A mild earthquake has jolted Dhaka and other parts of the country for the third consecutive day.

The tremor struck around 6:34pm Monday.

The magnitude of the quake was 5.1 in Richter scale and the epicentre was 5km south wast of Mirik, India, according to USGS.

After the massive 7.9 quake that killed more than 3,700 people in Nepal, two tremors hit Bangladesh on Saturday and Sunday.

The country was jolted by a massive 7.5 quake on Saturday, causing panic among the people in the capital and parts of the country.

At least four people were killed and several others sustained injuries during the tremor on Saturday. Besides, at least 11 buildings in Dhaka were reported to be affected by the quake.

The magnitude of Sunday's quake was 6.7 in Richter scale and the epicentre was 17km South of Kodari, Nepal, according to USGS. No report of injuries or damage has been filed after the quake.
