Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina co-chaired the fourth plenary session on the second day of the Asian African Summit at Jakarta, Indonesia.
Prime Minister of Egypt Ibrahim Mehbub was present as the co-chair of the session that began at 8:30am on Thursday, reports BSS.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque were also present on the occasion.
President of the House of Representative of Libya Akila Saleh Eissa, Vice President of the Philippines Jejomar C Binay, Minister of Communication and Multimedia of Malaysia Shabery Cheek, Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Sartaj Aziz, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria Aminu Bashir Wali, among others, took part in the discussion.
Afro-Asian leaders have discussed strategies to overcome common challenges and accelerate the pace of economic development in both continents through stronger South-South cooperation.
The three-day summit began here Wednesday to explore new ideas for building a solid foundation to nurture relations between the two continents, development, and resolve global issues.
President of Indonesia Joko Widodo inaugurated the summit at Jakarta Convention Center where 34 Heads of States, and delegates from 105 Asian and African countries, 15 observer countries, and 17 international organisations are taking part.
Later on Thursday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was scheduled to have bilateral talks with the Indonesian president, and prime Ministers of Palestine and Nepal.
The premier will leave Jakarta for home Thursday afternoon by a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
