First Track Service Centre for taxpayers launched

First Track Service Centre has been launched by Tax Zone 2 and Tax Zone 7 at Topkhana road in the capital's Segunbagicha are to provide taxpayers all tax related services under a single roof. "The service centre will provide different supports including receiving e-TIN, filling of income tax return of the taxpayers and receiving certified copy of income tax relating documents," said Tax Zone 2 Commissioner Kanon Kumar Roy. He was exchanging views in a meeting with journalists and officials of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) at its office on Tuesday. He said the government has already launched the online tax payment system to simplify the filling of income tax return of the taxpayers. The meeting was a part of the tax office's move to create awareness on "Pay-Role Tax" for government and autonomous body's officials. BSS Managing Director and Chief Editor Abul Kalam Azad, Chief News Editor Anisur Rahman and Chief Reporter M Ashequn Nabi Chowdhury, Additional Tax Commissioners of Taxes M Mahbubur Rahman and Touhida Jiasmin Chowdhury and Joint Commissioner Zeenat Ara took part, among others, on the occasion. Azad underscored the need for simplifying the tax system to make hassle-free environment for the taxpayers. "The relations between taxpayers and tax officials should be smoother to remove the fear of the common people about the tax. It will help increase collection of resources from internal sources," he added.
