Aspiring Saudi workers face trouble to get registration

The workers who want to go to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with job have been struggling to end the registration process as the local Manpower and Employment office lacks of necessary staff and logistics facility.

Consequently the workers had to visit the office for several times due to the odds, many of whom were from remote areas of the district

Sources at Chandpur Manpower and Employment office said photocopy of passport or a copy of national ID card of an aspirant is essential to fill up the registration form. Later, an SMS of successful registration is sent to his or mobile number requesting to collect registration card from the office concerned.

On the first day of the registration, above 50 people filled up the form and the authorities advised them to come later for card.

It was learnt that the registration for Malaysia was done in different local administration offices, but the latest task was going on only in the office and that was why it was struggling to cope with the increased pressure with the limited staff.

The office has five employees in lieu of seven.

Two KSA aspirants named Jahid Hossain and Manik Tarafder from remote Faridganj area said after a long struggle they managed to find out the manpower and employment office and filled up the registration form, but finally the process had remained pending owing to internet problem.

Later the authorities requested them to come the following day to end the task, which was very tough for them as a whole day and excess fare are required to come there again, they added.

Halima Begum, assistant director of local Manpower and Employment office, said they has been facing hurdle to run office as only one MSO-rank stuff was available there on deputation from Dhaka.

“Besides the situation has worsened due to not having any computer operator although we have assigned the MSO to the job. Since this is common scenario of the office, we are struggling to do the new enrollment task of aspirant Saudi workers. In this situation, we urgently need a computer operator who would be brought by a special arrangement,” the AD went on.

The director termed the registration task continuous process that would continued until any decision comes from the head office.

Later, the list of the registered workers would be sent to the head office as per direction from the higher authorities, Halima continued.
