4 crude bombs recovered from C'nawabganj court

The police have recovered four fresh crude bombs from the court of district chief judicial magistrate around Monday noon.

Officer-in-Charge of Chapainawabganj police station Jasim Uddin said: “The visitors noticed the crude bombs wrapped in black tapes on the stairways to the second and third floors of the court building at 12 noon.”

“Being informed, a special team of law enforcers comprising the members of district police and the Rapid Action Battalion, rushed in and recovered the crude bombs. Later, the law enforcers defused those.”

The OC further said the police were investigating the matter and searching for the persons involved.

Earlier on Saturday night, miscreants hurled a number of crude bombs at the houses of a magistrate and a judge in the district.

According to the police, unidentified miscreants exploded some two or three crude bombs at the house of Chief Judicial Magistrate Mostakimur Rahman around 8pm.

On the other hand, some crude bombs were hurled at the house of District and Session Judge Kabita Khanum at 7:30pm.

However, no report of injuries or damage had been filed in this incidents.

Now-a-days launching attacks at the houses of judges has become a common practice.

On Thursday, unidentified miscreants launched attacks on the houses of two Supreme Court judges who on Wednesday directed the government to stop publication and broadcast of statements by BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman in print, electronic and social media.
