German paper that ran Mohammed cartoons attacked

A German newspaper that reprinted the Charlie Hebdo cartoons came under arson attack overnight.

The incident happened at the Hamburger Morgenpost at about 2am local time. Unidentified people threw stones and incendiary devices into the building housing the “Hamburger Morgenpost” tabloid newspaper in Hamburg.

“It's true: Tonight there was an arson attack on our newspaper,” the Hamburger Morgen Post said on Twitter.

“Two rooms on the lower floors were damaged but the fire was put out quickly,” said the Morgenpost.

Two young men who had behaved suspiciously in the area, have been arrested, according to police.

On Jan 7, 12 people, including two police personnel, were killed in an attack on the Charlie Hebdo magazine office in Paris. Another police official was killed by a gunmen in Paris on Jan 8. On Friday four hostages were killed in a police operation at a kosher supermarket in eastern Paris.

Three gunmen, two Kouachi brothers, and Amedy Coulibaly were killed by the French police.
