The sunken oil tanker has been rescued from Sela River in the Sundarbans, 55 hours after it capsized with more than 350,000 litres of furnace oil.
Rescue vessel OT Jobeda 5 pulled the tanker out from the river around 1pm on Thursday, Chandpai forest ranger Abul Kalam Azad said.
He said the tanker was kept on Joimunir Char.
The vessel started the rescue efforts around 6:30am in association with a Chinese of dolphin project in Sundarbans.
Mongla Port Chairman Commodore Habibur Rahman said: "The tanker consists of six chambers. Of those, four chamber's oil have been spilled. Two chambers containing 100,000 litres of oil are unhurt."
The specially-equipped vessel Kandari 10 reached the capcize spot around 4pm.
"Kandari 10 has dispersant chemical on board which will be sprayed in the river to neutralise the oil," forest ranger Abul Kalam Azad said.
