The two market leader mobile phone operators in the country are for the first time going to introduce “minute back offer” for their customers as penalty in the wake of dropped calls.
The second largest operator in terms of subscribers, Banglalink, yesterday at a press conference declared its offer which will be effective from today while Grameenphone, the market leader, sent a press release yesterday evening declaring its offer to take effect on October 1. At a press conference, Banglalink said it has identified call drops as a major nuisance preventing customers from enjoying a full-fledged mobile communication.
That’s why Banglalink for the first time in Bangladesh is offering “Minute Back on Call Drop”, it added.
Ziad Shatara, CEO of the mobile company, said: “We are committed to providing our subscribers with the best value proposition.”
The innovative feature of “Minute Back on Call Drop” is a unique and unprecedented proposition in the market, a testament to the capacity development and superiority of the mobile operator’s overall network strength, he added.
According to Grameenphone, the offer is in celebration of reaching a milestone of its five crore subscribers. Earlier, the company also offered the Free Facebook Browsing for all of its subscribers for a same celebration.
As a treat to all Grameenphone users ahead of the Eid ul-Azha, GP announced that it would give 60 seconds reimbursement for dropped voice calls within its network starting from October 1, according to a release issued this evening.
About the offer, Grameenphone Chief Marketing Officer Allan Bonke said: “We want everyone to rely on our superior network quality.” He added that GP would offer all its subscribers 60 seconds reimbursement for every dropped call.
This is a token of appreciation to all our customers with the spirit of Eid ul-Azha and also a small teaser for more celebrations to come, said Allan.
Currently, GP has 4.95 crore active subscribers and its contender Banglalink is subscribed by 3 crore active users.
