US Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with foreign ministers from across the world in Paris to discuss how to defeat Islamic State (IS) militants.
He will meet the foreign ministers of 40 countries, including ten Arab states, on Monday to discuss the proposed US-led alliance to contain and combat the militants of IS, BBC reports
The meeting, which was called by President François Hollande, will consider strategy and allot roles, ranging from air-strikes to humanitarian aid.
French President Francois Hollande said the beheading of a British aid worker showed the world must act against IS.
All the five permanent members of the UN Security Council will attend the meeting.
The report cited Kerry saying he is "extremely encouraged" by promises of military assistance to tackle the militant group.
He spoke after a whirlwind tour of the Middle East to try to drum up support for a plan of action unveiled by US President Barack Obama last week.
