The government is going to take measures to check-up Ebola virus in the land, sea and air ports to prevent any possible spread of the deadly virus into the country.
The decision was taken in an inter-ministerial meeting held at the health ministry presided over by the minister Mohammad Nassim, Health Secretary MN Niazuddin said.
The government also declared a 90-day alert as a preventive measure against the epidemic Ebola virus.
The health secretary said medical teams comprising members of armed forces, civil aviation and hospitals would work in all ports to diagnose and provide treatment if there is any case where anyone carrying the virus is found.
The team can also test anyone suspected to be carrying the virus or posing with syndromes, the secretary said.
As part of the government measure, a 20-bed ward would be opened in Kurmitola General Hospital for treatment of the Ebola virus disease, he also said.
"These measures are aimed to develop a preventive measure," the secretary quoted Health Minister Mohammad Nasim.
The minister urged all not to be panicked, Niazuddin added.
Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) or Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF) is the human disease caused by the Ebola virus. The disease has high mortality rate: often killing between 50% and 90% of those infected with the virus. The largest outbreak to date is the ongoing 2014 West African Ebola outbreak, which is affecting Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria.
