A postmaster of Feni sadar upazila, who was shot and chopped by miscreants on Thursday, has succumbed to his injuries at Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Mahbubul Haque, a postmaster of Mmataz Miarhat Post Office in Dhalia Union of Feni sadar upazila.
Dhalia Union Parishad Chairman Jasim Uddin has confirmed about the death to the Dhaka Tribune.
Locals said a gang of miscreants called Mahbub out of his house at 2am on Thursday and shot and chopped him, leaving him injured seriously.
He was rushed to Feni Sadar Hospital. Later, he was shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 11:30pm on Friday.
