Tk100 tax for SIM card replacement

Consumers will have to pay Tk100 as fixed tax for getting back SIM cards again if

lost or damaged due to careless, negligence handling or other reasons.

The exiting tax of Tk300 on the supply of a SIM card taken by the mobile operators will continue.

Proposing Taka 100 fixed tax on re-registration of a SIM card in the budget for FY 2014-15, Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith, said: "There is no tax on the supply of replacement.

SIMs. It causes inconvenience in revenue accounting. In order to ensure transparency, I propose to impose a fixed tax of Tk100 on the supply of every single piece of replacement SIM."
