Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has proposed an allocation of Tk11,146 crore for the health and family planning sector in the ensuing 2014-15 financial year.
The allocation for health sector in the next budget increased in nominal term, however, in percentage wise total allocation, it was reduced to 4.45% from 4.6%.
Finance minister M A Muhit has placed the proposed national budget for current fiscal year (2014-2015) in the parliament on Thursday.
In the last year budget (2013-2014), the amount of revised allocated budget was Tk9,979 crore which increased to Tk11,146 crore this year.
The revised budget was Tk9,151, 8,168 and 7,636 crore respectively in 2012-2013, 2011-2012 and 2010-2011 fiscal years.
